Year 2 have been enjoying the story of Esio Trot written by Royal Dahl. They found the story funny and enjoyed the happy ending! They particularly liked Ms Silver’s Tortoise Alfie therefore the children wrote their very own growing chants to try and help Alfie grow. These chants were written in capital letters and even Trottish.
Perhaps the most exciting part of our study of Esio Trot however was a very special visit from a neighbour of the school Mr Warfe. He surprised the classes by bringing in his two tortoises Tessa and Jaws. The children thoroughly enjoyed this visit and loved seeing the tortoises up close and being able to hold them. They found it very funny when the tortoises started chasing and banging into each other. We would like to say a big thank you to Mr Warfe.
