Our Autumn Term topic is based around the rhyming tale of The House that Jack Built.  We have looked at lots of different kinds of homes, including those in other parts of the world.

We spent an exciting afternoon building dens in our classrooms, thinking carefully about the materials we had used to construct them. We have considered why some materials are better than others for particular jobs.

 

 

 

 

 

 

We have also been discovering what life is like for Juan, a little boy who lives in the Chaco region of Paraguay and comparing our homes with his.

We have all designed a room for a model house, carefully following instructions to paper the inside and making furniture from recycled materials.
