School Year:

Class 11 Assembly

By Maddie Dalgleish and Evie Davies on 25th January 2012

On Thursday 1st December Class 11 performed a Collective Worship. It was all about being “Generous for the Future.”

In the Collective Worship, we performed a short but exciting play called “Running Shoes.” It was all about a girl called Elisa who received a pair of running shoes. These shoes enabled her to go to the nearest school (8km away.) She learnt how to read and write very well so when she grew up, she taught children in her village how to read and write, whether boy or girl. The person who gave Elisa the running shoes was being “generous for the future” because he enabled the future children living in the village to learn to read and write. Script adapted by: Maddie Dalgleish, Hayley Brooks, Emily Eyre, Maya Horwood and Anna Preece.

Not long after 14 members of class 11 presented a dance to go with a song that we had learnt called “All Over the World.”Dancing choreographed by: Evie Davies, Issabella North, Ella Shaw and Imogen Harris.

We had also made posters in groups of 4 or 5 showing everybody our different ideas of how to be “Generous for the Future.”

As our hymn class 11 sang the 1st verse and chorus of a song called “Sad Puzzled Eyes.” After the school had heard it they sang the rest of the song along with class 11.

We finished with a prayer to bring our Collective Worship to a calm and peaceful ending.
