Reception plant a Jubilee hedge6th February 2013
Just before the Christmas Holiday, classes 1 and 2 went out to the woodland area to plant a very special hedge.
First we got the baby trees out of the box…
…then we put it in a hole.
Then we had to stamp the ground down next to it.
This hedge was sent to the school by The Woodland Trust to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee in 2012. It is made up of different types of shrubs and trees like hazel, dogwood, hawthorn and rose. Most appropriate are the holly bushes, as class 1 has three Hollys this year!
There is also an oak tree sapling from Windsor Great Park which will be planted in the new year.
