Solar System in a Shoe Box

Wow! These space shoe boxes are amazing! Just when I think I’ve seen it all, our children, and of course, their tireless parents come up with more and more inventive ways to display this homework.

We’ve got glow in the dark stars, electric fairy lights, planets made out of sponge, plasticine, foam, buttons, clay and for the first time ever….space shoe boxes were edible! Yes, that’s right… edible! Maltesers, gob-stoppers and satsumas are just a few of the foods chosen to represent planets and of course… a Terry’s Chocolate Orange as the Sun!

Well done to all of the children in Year 5 and thank you to all of the helpers, parents, nannies, grand-parents and others who supported the children in realising their creative science ideas!

If you haven’t seen the boxes, feel free to pop into the class-rooms after school.

Now… about that Satsuma… is that rotting away in my class-room?!
