Year 3 trip to the Corinium Museum

On Wednesday 14th November, Year 3 children went to the Corinium Museum in Cirencester. Once at the Museum, we split into groups to do a range of exciting activities.

In the teaching room the children tried making their own mosaics, investigated Roman food, played some typical Roman games and had the opportunity to dress up as Romano Britons. The children also had plenty of time to look around the range of exhibits in the Museum. They enjoyed the Roman soldier on horseback, the large mosaics and the hypocaust system. They found the soldier in his barracks a little bit scary! They also had great fun exploring a range of interactive resources in the upper gallery which enabled them to learn about a wide range of aspects of the Roman lifestyle.

At the end of the day, both staff and children were exhausted but all agreed that it had been an enjoyable day which really helped the children to develop their knowledge and understanding of the Romans.
