Year 2 visit the Literature Festival

Last week Year Two visited the Cheltenham Literature Festival to meet the author Emily Gravett. We really enjoyed listening to her new story and we helped her to write a new version of one of her books, ‘Monkey and Me’. Our new version was called ‘Alien and Me!’ and we had to think of new ideas to include.  Millie in Class 6 was lucky enough to have her idea chosen and we were allowed to bring the picture that Emily Gravett drew back to school with us.

Before we went to the Literature Festival we made our own class books of our favourite characters from her books and Emily kindly signed our class books for us!

We were so inspired by her that when we returned to school we made our own books which will soon be on display in the Key Stage 1 library!
