Anglo Saxons in Year 4

Classes 9 and 10 have settled into 2015 well and have hit the ground running! The children have kick-started the year by transforming themselves into Anglo-Saxons and by designing and creating their very own Anglo-Saxon shield. On top of this, the children have started to explore the ancient story of Beowulf, the great warrior who defeated the fearsome monster, Grendel. In class, the children have been discussing ‘what makes a hero?’ and ‘what makes a monster?’ They have been making comparisons between Beowulf and heroes / villains of modern day stories.
