Keeping Healthy
8th July 2016In Reception, the children have been learning about how to keep healthy. We enjoyed a visit from the dentist, who came to tell us how important it is to look after our teeth and we enjoyed looking at some healthy teeth, as well as teeth which had holes in! We talked about foods and drinks which are good for our teeth and those best enjoyed occasionally. We also prepared some questions for the dentist to help us understand a little bit more about the work a dentist does and how dentists can help us. The dentist reminded the children they should be brushing their teeth for two minutes, twice a day.
We also enjoyed making a healthy fruit salad! We had great fun talking about halves and quarters and we all made sure we were extra careful when we used the knives for cutting the bananas, apples and satsumas. Happily, everyone was very careful and sensible, which meant that we could all enjoy eating the delicious fruit salad we had prepared. The classrooms have never smelled so good!
