Miss Sullivan’s Maths17th March 2016
As part of our Maths topic, we have been solving problems involving measures. In groups, we have collaborated and used a variety of strategies to solve the challenges that Miss Sullivan has posed. Our key word this week has been resilience-to keep going even after we have failed. The photos below show us solving a problem using play dough.
Make 3 play dough balls. Make sure 1 ball is half the weight of another.
Ensure that the third ball of play dough is the lightest and weighs between 60g and 100g.
The total weight of your 3 play dough balls should be 500g.
Not only did we have to solve the problem but we also had to explain how we solved it.
Over the next few days, we will be spending time outdoors investigating area and perimeter.
