Cheltenham Kwik Cricket Festival

On Tuesday 29th May I took a group of 8 Year 6 cricketers to the Hatherley & Reddings CC to compete in the above tournament.

15 teams were taking part, organised in 4 groups. After a decidedly dodgy start Leckhampton found their confidence and began fielding superbly well to win all of their three group games to finish top of their group.

In the semi-final we narrowly beat Lakeside school to make it into the final against Charlton Kings. At this point the team lost its ‘mojo’ and struggled to keep pace with the oppositions run scoring. Despite the disappointing end to the day the team had begun to show what they were capable of under the captaincy of Seth Price. It was a great effort to achieve 2nd place with so little match experience. The team has already identified improvements it needs to make! Thank you to Mr Price who supported the team with sound advice and encouragement.
