Cheltenham Schools Level 2 Mountain Biking

On a cool Tuesday afternoon, four boys and girls from Leckhampton set out on their bikes in a bid to qualify for the Level 3 Gloucestershire School Mountain Biking Tournament, and what they achieved will live long in the memory. Competing against 14 other schools with only the winning team qualifying for the main event in May, Eleanor Whalley, Abi Rowsell, Sam Starkey and Oliver Agombar bolted around the tricky terrain that had lay before them with skill, speed and immense determination. In this relay event, our cycling stars supported each other from beginning to end and not only won their race, but their time defeated the times set by every other school that competed. Parents, teachers and children were jubilant, and the only thing left to do was have gold medals draped around their necks, and pose for the celebratory photograph!
