Cross-Country Report

14th March 2016

The Leckhampton Primary School Cross-Country team attended the last of four cross country races at St Edwards School, on Thursday 10^th March. The children all raced really well, despite the hilly course.

In the girls’ race there was a field of 140+ runners. Special mention goes to Grace Buxton who finished in 51^st place, Ruby Buxton who finished in 47^th place and Betsy Gaze who finished in 17^th place.

In the boys` race there were several top fifty places from a field of 166 boys. Charlie Beardsmore finished 46^th, Thomas Abbott 33^rd, Noah Kontou-Goymer 16^th, Jack Johnson 15^th, Freddie Janta-Lipinski 12^th , with Sam Cotton finishing a very impressive 6^th.

In the overall competition, the Leckhampton boys finished second equal with Charlton Kings Junior School.

Both Jack Johnson and Sam Cotton have now been invited to take part in the County Cross Country Championships on Saturday 19^th March.

Well done to all competitors and a big thank you to all the parents who have acted as chauffeur for these events.
