Girls Football Club

During the Spring Term, 24 girls from Years 4, 5 and 6 enjoyed taking part in football club.  As part of the club, some of the girls played in a tournament at Charlton Kings Junior School and a mostly Year 6 team also enjoyed a friendly match at St. James’ C of E Primary School.

The girls tournament was a great success with the team playing 3 games, winning 1-0 against St. James’ and drawing 0-0 with both St. Edward’s and Andoversford.  As a result, the team finish second in their group and narrowly missed qualifying for the finals round.

The friendly game away at St. James’ saw the team narrowly lose 2-1.  Despite defeat, the moment of the match belonged to the team captain, Katie Dutton, who dribbled more than half the pitch like Ryan Giggs to score a fantastic solo goal!

Well done to all the girls involved.
