Grounds Working Party
17th November 2014Lashing rain failed to deter a handful of hardy souls who turned out for the first work party of the new academic year. Despite the low turnout most of the priority items on the job list were completed including setting up the new composting system. Both Mrs Smith, the school bursar, and Mrs Blake had helped secure 10 new composting bins. The excellent compost from the old system was spread over the vegetable beds used by Year 1 and Year 3. They should ensure some quality produce next year. With the new layout it should be easier for children and adults to fill, monitor and 'stir' the bins.
Mr Allen kindly brought his impressive leaf blower to clear up the piles of leaves that have accumulated on both playgrounds.
As always cakes and hot drinks helped provide energy and respite from the damp conditions.
Thanks for all the help and support.
