Leckhampton  v Bishop’s Cleeve – Thursday 29th September 2011

On Thursday 29th September Leckhampton’s football teams played against Bishops Cleeve School. Leckhampton’s “ A”  team had a close match, narrowly winning 5-4. In the first minutes of the game Bishop Cleeve’s captain scored a left footed volley. Will Dutton then scored for Leckhampton to make the score 1-1. 5 minutes later Luke Pardoe scored to give Leckhampton a 2-1 lead going into the second half.

As the second half started Bishops Cleeve made a comeback to give them a 4-2 lead with about 8 minutes to go. Then it was time for Leckhampton’s comeback. Will Dutton scored his second while Seth Price and Henry West also scored a goal each. It was a tight match and with the heat we were exhausted at the end. However  we won and that’s what matters and we hope to win again in the future.

We would like to thank the supporters and Mr. Mackenzie for organizing the match.

Leckhampton’s “ B” team took on Bishops Cleeve’s “B” team. We kicked off and had a good start because I scored in the first minute. The scoring carried on with goals from Thomas Tyrrell and Louis Macdonald. In the closing minutes of the first half Bishops Cleeve put one in the back of the net. The first half ended 3-1 to us.

They had the kick off in the second half with us going downhill. It was mostly one way traffic for us. More goals by me, Thomas, Louis and a terrific goal by Harry Pettit from just outside the half way line made it 8-1 with a few minutes left.  Jack Hamilton then had a run and took a shot. It was deflected by the keeper and then Will Story followed up and put it in the corner. In the dying moments Bishops Cleeve had a run but it was stopped after amazing defending by Barnaby Wilderspin.

The match ended 9-1 to us. We would like to thank all the supporters and Mr. Mackenzie for organising the match.
