Project Wild Thing – A Film Night at Leckhampton Primary School

On Tuesday 28th January we held our first film night – a showing of 'Project Wild Thing', a documentary about the challenges of reconnecting children with nature. A reasonable turnout of 30+ people viewed the film in the school hall.

FOLPS kindly organised free refreshments and funded the licence fee for showing the film. Grateful thanks for their support, and to Mrs Agombar and Mrs Bullows who helped out on the night.

Responses following the showing have been positive and we are planning to buy a few copies of the DVD for those parents who were unable to attend. Further details will follow on the school website. Thanks to all who left written feedback. We will respond to suggestions via the school website. One request was for suggestions for good places to take the children for a 'wild' experience; these should be free, outdoors and involve no special equipment. I am sure we all have our favourite woodland walk, stream or place. Siccaridge Wood, near Sapperton and Daneway is one of ours.

We would encourage everyone to have a look at the website: www.projectwildthing.com for further details.
