Summer Celebration of Music, Wednesday 27th June, 2012

Q. What has 79 bows and 790 toes?

A. The sum total of the string players at our Summer Celebration Concert!

The Summer Celebration got off to a fine start.  Opened by the Orchestra, the first half showcased our string players – from the beginners to the more advanced!  This concert was a chance for every child who learns an instrument at school to have the chance to perform to a wider audience.  In the second half, it was the turn of our woodwind and brass players to hold the stage with their wonderful ensemble work.  Our Summer concert seemed bigger than ever this year and it was another memorable evening, where one is reminded of just how lucky we are to be surrounded by so many musical children. Altogether  114 Key Stage Two children took part.  An amazing number!

Well done to all the children – you never fail to “knock my socks off!”

Many thanks to the staff that gave up their evening to help everyone backstage.

Special thanks go to Ms Leiher, Mrs Gosling, Mrs Phillips, Ms Grover and Mr Loveridge for their relentless enthusiasm and encouragement to our young pupils.  We couldn’t do it without you!
