Swimming Gala – Tewkesbury School
2nd February 2017Last week, 6 children from Leckhampton went to a swimming gala, where they competed directly against children from 7 other schools. From beginning to end, they were a credit to our school. All 6 children conducted themselves brilliantly; they were determined to succeed, gracious in defeat and swam with skill and spirit. In a nail-biting finish to the gala, where after 6 events the winner hadn’t yet been decided, it all came down to the relay. After 6 lengths of the pool Woodmancote pipped us to the line and victory by less than a metre, taking the overall prize by just 2 points. Our boys and girls then wore their silver medals with pride for the rest of the day, as well they should; they did us proud! Well done:
