Tewkesbury Abbey
21st October 2013On Saturday 19th October, the Year 6 Choir, accompanied by Miss Hartley, Miss Sullivan and Miss Porter visited Tewkesbury Abbey to take part in an event hosted by the Cheltenham Symphony Orchestra in celebration of the highly esteemed British composer, Benjamin Britten.
The choir performed beautifully and it was such a delight to hear so many complements from members of the audience. At the end of the performance flowers and gifts were presented to the vocal soloists; Rachel Chapman, Diana Moore and Richard Edgar.
Evie also had the opportunity to present a thank you gift to Mr Rick Wakeman who narrated part of the performance!
Thank you to all of the children who took part, we are so proud of you! I have to admit I was a little nervous too and I wasn’t singing! Thank you to our families for supporting this event.
A special thank you to Miss Hartley for sprinkling her musical magic and to Miss Sullivan for her supportive smiles and encouragement during the day.
And our very own Mrs O'Riordan was there too!
