The Cheltenham Schools Sports Hall Athletics Competition

On a wet and windy January day, nineteen boys and girls from Leckhampton represented our school and competed in a variety of track and field activities in the warmth of Cheltenham Ladies College Sports Centre against eight other schools. The competition was fierce and the stakes were high, but our athletes performed with enormous skill, enthusiasm and positivity, and we are so proud of them all! Everyone on the team contributed to our total score and when the final scores were collated, Leckhampton came a brilliant third, and parents were jubilant as our impressive team collected their bronze medals. We also had some personal triumphs, with many notable performances:

Charlie Beardsmore winning the boys javelin

Georgia Haslam finishing runner up in the girls javelin

Bettie Knibbs winning the vertical jump

Libby Lavender and Kitty Ellis winning the 2 x 2 lap relay

Kitty Ellis and Tilly Coley winning the 6 lap relay

Libby Lavender, Renee Peyman, Georgia Haslam and Flora Hopcraft winning the under/over relay

Flora Hopcraft, Ruth Le Maistre, Daphne Garbutt and Bettie Knibbs winning the 4 x 1 lap relay

And Kitty Ellis for winning the speed bounce and finishing runner up in the vertical jump
